We are based deep in the heart of 1066 country and our name - Senlac - has been associated with the area since before 1066 as it was actually the hill defended by King Harold's English army during the Battle of Hastings.
The top of this hill was subsequently levelled off to create what is known today as Battle Abbey. While referred to as the Battle of Hastings, the location of the battlefield itself can be found in the nearby town of Battle, East Sussex.
